The City of Statesboro is accepting applications for Police Officer candidates at City Hall, 50 East Main Street , 2 nd floor, Personnel Department. Applications are available at City Hall or online at www.statesboroga.net .

Starting Salary:
$ 29,269 annually- not certified
$ 30,007 annually- GA Certified Police Officer

Additional Pay Available for those qualified:
Advanced Patrol Officer [2.5% raise]

College Tuition Reimbursement
College Degree [ 2.5% raise]

Pay for Experience [3 years Min]
ERT Members/ SWAT [ 5% raise]
Off Duty Pay [$25 /hr]

Officers are paid bi-weekly.

SPD provides all uniforms and equipment including: primary
duty firearm [Glock 21, .45 cal], lightweight duty gear, ASP baton, OC spray, M-26 Taser, handcuffs, badges, lightweight body armor with under armor shirts, patrol rain gear and jacket, and boots.

The benefits package includes low cost major medical and dental insurance.
The City also offers a 457 b retirement plan to supplement the City retirement.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must be 21 years of age to apply
2. High School Graduate or GED
3. Successful completion of written exams, background investigation,
drug screens, psychological, polygraph examination, and physical.
4. Valid driver's license
5. Free of any felony or domestic violence convictions or significant misdemeanor violations
