1. Will Public Works remove dead animals? Yes. Public Works will remove dead animals from City Roadways. However, Public Works will not remove a deceased animal from private property. If a complaint in regards to a dead animal is made to Public Works, a crew will pick up the dead animal and take it to the transfer station. To notify Public Works of a dead animal on a City street, please call (912) 764-0681 and have a correct location or address where the crew will find the deceased animal.

2. What is the City of Statesboro 's garbage route and schedule? The route and schedule of garbage collection varies for locations. For more information, please call (912) 764-0681.

3. When will my yard waste be collected? The schedule for the collection of yard waste varies. For more information, please call (912) 764-0681.

 

4. How do I report a pot hole? To report a pot hole on a street within the city limits please call the Pot Hole Hotline at

(912) 764-0681. When calling, please know the street name and location of the pot hole.

 

5. How do I report a street light or traffic light that is not working or not working properly? Please call Public Works at

(912) 764-0681 to report problems with street lights and traffic lights within the city limits. A crew from Public Works will replace any bulbs, but if more repairs are required we will contact Georgia Department of Transportation.

 

6. What should I do if my Poly-Cart (trash can) is lost or stolen? All city Polycarts can be identified by a serial number. If the Polycart is lost or stolen and is never recovered, the property owner is responsible for purchasing a new Polycart from Public Works for $65.00. Public Works will replace a Polycart for free if the property owner has moved into a new location and is unable to locate the assigned Polycart. If you have any questions or problems with a Polycart, please contact Public Works at (912) 764-0681.

 

7. If I live in the city, where should I take items for recycling? Paper, plastic, and other household recycling items can be dropped off at the Statesboro Bulloch recycling center located at the intersection of Bulloch Street and Institute Street . The address is 15 Institute Street and the phone number is (912) 764-4637. The recycling center is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
