As a profession, Public Works is undoubtedly one of the oldest professions
in the world. For instance, dedicated Public Works Officials have served
humanity as long as people have lived in cities instead of caves. As Director
of Public Works for the City of Statesboro, it is my duty to ensure that the
five divisions of public works, such as streets, parks, solid waste collection
and disposal, and fleet maintenance run smoothly under one department on a
day by day basis.
It is a rewarding experience to provide these services for our citizens and
